Overcoming Self-doubt and Staying Motivated🌺✨

How to push past fears and keep your momentum going.

✨Your Affirmation of the Week✨

“I am capable of achieving my dreams, and I trust myself to take the next step.”

I wanted to share with you one of the moments where self-doubt almost got the best of me.

Earlier last week, I sat down with my notebook, filled with my big dreams and exciting goals. But as I read them out, I could feel it creeping in—that little voice whispering: “What if you’re not good enough? What if you fail, again? Who are you to even try?" Who do you think you are?”

For a while, I let that voice sit with me. I almost let it convince me to give up when I’d just started. But then I remembered something: Self-doubt is just fear in disguise. And fear is a natural part of stepping outside your comfort zone.

So instead of running away from it, I acknowledged it, wrote it down, and reminded myself why I started in the first place.

And I gave myself permission to show up imperfectly but consistently (or as I like to call it doing/creating the minimum viable product).

And slowly, that fear quieted down.

If you’ve ever felt like this—trust me, you’re not alone. Self-doubt happens to everyone, especially when you’re chasing your biggest dreams that require you to step outside your comfort zone.

As part of our goal-setting series, this week I’m sharing how to overcome self-doubt and keep moving forward with confidence.

By now you’ve likely set intentional goals and started building systems to stay consistent without burnout, and for that, you should be proud of yourself for taking the necessary steps in order to achieve your goals this 2025. But if you haven’t taken action per the last two newsletters, block some time out this week so that you don’t get left behind. 💖

Here’s what you’ll learn this week:

  • 🌟 The surprising truth about self-doubt and why it’s not your enemy.

  • 🧘 How to build confidence even when you’re feeling unsure.

  • ✨ Gentle reminders to keep going, even on the hard days.

Step 1: Acknowledge Your Self-Doubt Without Judgement 🌱

The first step to overcoming self-doubt is simply by recognizing it. Instead of beating yourself up for feeling insecure, try approaching it with curiosity.

Ask yourself:

  • What is this doubt trying to protect me from?

  • What fear is it bringing to light?

Oftentimes, self-doubt is rooted in a fear of failure, rejection, or the unknown. But here’s the thing: fear is a sign you’re growing. It shows that you’re pushing beyond your comfort zone, and that’s something you should be very proud of.

Action Tip: The next time self-doubt creeps in, write it down in your journal. Then write a positive affirmation to counter it. For Example:

  • Self-doubt: “I’m not ready for this.”

  • Affirmation: “I’m learning and growing, and that’s all I need to succeed.”

Your doubt might try to convince you that everything needs to be perfect before you take the next step. But girl, trust me: imperfection is where real growth happens. So let yourself be imperfect.

Step 2: Build Confidence Through Small Wins 🌟

Here’s where many of us get stuck: we wait until we feel confident to take action. But the secret is the opposite—confidence comes from taking action.

Confidence isn’t something you or anyone else is born with—it’s something you build, one small win at a time.

Here’s how:

1️⃣ Start with Micro-Actions: Break your goals into tiny manageable steps. For Example:

  • If you want to start a side hustle? Commit to researching for 20 minutes today, not planning the whole business in one sitting.

  • If you want to work out more? Just put on your workout clothes—showing up is half the battle!

Each step you complete reinforces your belief in yourself.

🤍 Here’s how I incorporate this into my own life:

For me to grow this newsletter, I know I need to create more content to share on TikTok. So I decided that every morning, five days a week, I would get ready as if I were creating content (showing up is half the battle). This has allowed me to create so much more content than if I were to dedicate an entire day solely for content creation.

It has helped me remove the pressure that one day has to go perfectly. Plus if I am not in the mood to create content that day, I can simply postpone it to the next day. This is a total game-changer for me.🤍

2️⃣ Celebrate Everything: Don’t wait until you reach the finish line to celebrate. Did you complete a small task? Take a moment to acknowledge it (and maybe even write how proud you are in your journal) Did you send the email you were nervous about? That's a win!

  • Reward yourself: Treat yourself to a Starbucks or a 5-minute dance break—whatever makes you feel good. Celebrating progress enforces your belief that you can do hard things. Plus, every step forward is worth acknowledging.

3️⃣ Focus on What You’ve Achieved: Instead of dwelling on what’s left to do, take stock of how far you’ve already come.

Action Tip: At the end of each day, start writing one thing (or more) that you’re proud of. It can be as simple as sending an email, submitting that job application, or drinking enough water—small wins build big momentum.

By keeping track of your wins either in your journal or notes app, you create a list of accomplishments that you can visit whenever doubt tries to creep back in.

✨Takeaway: Confidence isn’t built overnight. It’s built through small steps, every decision to show up, and every celebration of your progress.

Step 3: Embrace The Journey, Not Just The Destination 🌸

Self-doubt often comes from focusing too much on the “what ifs.” What if I fail? What if I am not good enough?

In a world of deadlines and pressure, it’s so easy to get caught up in chasing results. But when you solely focus on the finish line, self-doubt can feel overwhelming because the goal seems so far away.

But here’s the shift that can change everything: focus on the journey, not the outcome.

Here’s how you can fall in love with the journey:

1️⃣ Reflect on What You’re Learning: After every step, take a moment to ask yourself: What did I learn today? How did I grow? Because even mistakes and challenges have lessons to offer.

Example: If a goal didn’t work out as planned, instead of saying, “I failed,” try saying “Now I know what doesn’t work, and I’m better equipped for next time.”

When you stop seeing mistakes as failures and start viewing them as lessons and opportunities to grow, self-doubt loses its power.

2️⃣ Stay Present in the Moment: When self-doubt pulls your focus to the “what-ifs” of the future, ground yourself in the now.

Ask Yourself: What’s one thing I can do today that brings me closer to my goal? Then you focus on just that one thing.

3️⃣ Celebrate Your Progress (Again): Yes, this is important enough to mention twice!

Celebrate how far you’ve come, not just how far you have to go. Gratitude is the antidote to self-doubt.

Action Tip: The next time you catch yourself worrying about the future, pause and name three things you’re grateful for in the present moment. Gratitude will help shift your focus back to the present moment and what’s going right.

✨Takeaway: Success isn’t just the result at the end—it’s found in every step, every lesson, and every bit of progress you reach along the way.

Gentle Reminders đŸ’–

✨ Self-doubt is a sign you’re stepping outside your comfort zone, and that’s where growth happens.

✨ You don’t have to have it all figured out to take the next step.

✨ Progress, not perfection, is the goal.

This Week’s Homework đŸ“

1️⃣ Write down one (or more) small win every day this week.

2️⃣ Replace one self-doubt thought with an affirmation. Try this for the next 30 days and I promise you will feel the magic.

3️⃣ Focus on enjoying one moment of the process—the present, no matter how small.
