How to use self-awareness to get back on trackšŸ¤āœØ

the secret to breaking patterns, finding clarity, and returning to yourself.

✨Your Affirmation of the Week✨

ā€œI trust myself enough to slow down, reflect, and grow. Even when I feel stuck, I know clarity is one decision away.ā€

Hey girlšŸ’•

I’m about to say something that might sting a little…

But it could completely shift the way you move through slip-ups, confusion, and those off weeks that seem to come out of nowhere.

Ready?

If you don’t understand yourself, your patterns, your triggers, the things that keep you stuck — who will?

No one can do the work of understanding you but you.

One of the most important lessons I’ve learned in my life so far is this:

If I don’t take the time to understand why I do certain things, why certain situations trigger me, what’s actually behind my anxiety, or what causes burnout (am I really burnt out or just exhausted?), then I’ll keep living my life in circles.

The same circles. Over and over again.

Doing the same things. Feeling stuck in the same places. Reliving the same patterns. And still wondering why.

But the truth is:
You can’t expect to keep doing the same things and magically get different results.

It’s like being in a car, listening to the same CD on repeat, hoping the tracklist will suddenly change.

Or rereading your favorite book, and expecting a different ending this time.

Unless someone out there has a magic wand… that’s just not going to happen.

Let’s go deeper šŸ’

Last week, I shared how I’d been feeling lost and overwhelmed — and that over the next few weeks, I’d be working on finding my rhythm again.

But here’s something I’ve realized:

You can’t get back into rhythm without self-awareness.

If you don’t know what’s blocking your flow, you won’t know how to return to it.

Think of it like this:
If you’re driving and suddenly hear a clanking sound coming from your car, you’re going to pull over and check what’s wrong. You’ll walk around, look under the hood, listen closely — whatever it takes to figure it out.

Self-awareness works the same way. When something feels off in your life, you have to stop and investigate. Not scroll past it. Not ignore it. Not power through it.
Pause and pay attention to what’s really going on underneath.

That was a lesson I had to sit with recently.

I realized I was creating content based on what I thought would perform well — not what felt real, not what felt aligned. I stopped checking in with myself and started checking my metrics instead.

And when the content didn’t perform?
I spiraled.

But this time… I didn’t stay in that spiral.
I paused. I reflected. I asked myself better questions.

Which led me back to a simple but powerful reset.

(one that you might recognise from one of the first newsletters I ever wrote)

Let’s Break It Down: 3 Wins, 3 Challenges, 3 Lessons šŸ–Š

This tiny framework helped me feel less overwhelmed and more anchored.
It’s honest, clear, and way more helpful than trying to fix everything at once.

Wins šŸ† —

What are three things you’re proud of lately?
They don’t have to be massive. It could be sticking to your morning routine, making a tough decision, prioritizing rest, setting better boundaries, or simply showing up when it was hard. Or maybe its a ā€˜bigger’ milestone like getting a new job, making new friends, cutting out old friends that you longer align with, basically this list could go on and on and on.

(P.S.: You determine what a massive or bigger milestone is. Because every win deserves to be celebrated, no matter the size.)

Challenges šŸ’Ŗ —

Three challenges. What’s been testing you?
Be honest with yourself. We are here to acknowledge whatever it is without judgment. Also not here to dwell on the past, but rather to take notice.

So, what felt heavy? What made you shut down? What patterns showed up again?

Lessons 🌱 —

Three lessons. What did you learn from those wins and challenges?
From the highs and the lows — what insights came through? What did the hard moments teach you? What are you being invited to do differently?

Take 10–15 minutes this week to sit with these. Or better yet, if you have some time right now, just so that you don’t forget.
With this little ā€˜task’ alone you’ll feel lighter and walk away with clarity. That changes everything.

šŸ’– A Little Gratitude Exercise

Once you’ve reflected, I want you to write this sentence:

ā€œDear Me, thank you forā€¦ā€

And just let it flow.

Write it like a letter — even if it’s just two or three sentences. Acknowledge the version of you that got through the last few weeks, the one that’s still showing up.
That part of you deserves love, recognition, and gratitude.

🌸 Talk to Someone Who Gets It

And while you’re at it? Talk to a close friend. But not just anyone — someone who knows you, someone you trust to see you vulnerable and still hold space without judgment.

Sometimes, a good conversation with the right person helps you:

  • Uncover what’s really giving you anxiety

  • Pinpoint what’s making you feel overwhelmed

  • Name what’s been making you feel lost or held back

Why is this important? One, there is power in talking. Second, sometimes we know the answers to our questions, but it’s hard for us to admit it to ourselves; but if it’s talking to someone we trust, they are able to coax it out of us.

Because clarity loves connection. And you don’t have to do all this self-awareness work alone.
Let the people who love you in — even a little bit.

(P.S. This is coming from someone who occasionally has a hard time opening up to those close to her in fear of being a burden.)

This isn’t about being hard on yourself. It’s about becoming aware of yourself.
Because when you understand your patterns, you reclaim your power to shift them.

Your life is always trying to speak to you through your habits, your energy, and your emotions. But first, you have to start listening.

And while we’re being honest with ourselves…

I won’t lie to you. Taking those first few steps forward to get back on track will be hard. You may even feel like you’re not good enough or feel scared and nervous that ā€œwhat if this happens again, I don’t think I can handle it.ā€

The thing is (and I know it may not be what you want to hear), it probably will happen again.

And you’re not alone.

But here’s something to hold on to:

The most successful people in the world have also been in your shoes and experienced the same anxiety, felt the same nervousness, had the same thoughts, but the difference is that they said,

ā€œMy goals, my ambition, and my desires are much stronger than any feelings of anxiety or any thought of overwhelm that I may ever have.ā€

That’s how they got to where they are now. And that’s how you will too — by not letting anything stop you.

Yes, things may take longer. You may fall or take a wrong turn every once in a while, but who hasn’t?

The most important thing is how fast you are able to get back on track, no matter the challenge.

So, keep going, girl. You’ve got this.

And I will be in your inbox next Monday.
